I combined elements from my 2 sets of 10 works here and I hope to continue building this process in my next piece. Mary Scurlcok was my inspiration for the concept of the tree and I continued my geometric patterns from my previous works with the repetition of differing sized triangles.
In my next piece, I want to work with Elmer's glue and other materials to create a wider variety of layers to make the piece more visually interesting. The symbolism of my tree in this work includes life's tendency to "branch" out at unexpected times. The eerie nature of my piece is brightened with the yellow pattern that stretches over the tree's trunk and its branches.. I hope to continue with my theme of nature and repeated geometric designs in my next piece, but I hope to incorporate a different concept of nature that is more abstract.
